Elizabeth Austin’s writing has appeared in The New York Times, TIME, Harper’s Bazaar, Electric Literature, Narratively, McSweeney’s, and others. She has been a guest on podcasts, penned essays for newsletters, and contributed to anthologies. She is co-editor of a forthcoming anthology of stories from the margins of the U.S. healthcare system.
She has been awarded several residencies and workshops including Sewanee, Hedgebrook, Turning Points, and Writers Workshop Dublin. She has presented at conferences and symposiums and given talks at various schools, from elementary to University levels.
She holds an M.F.A. from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her two children and their many pets. She writes a newsletter about her writing life and her family’s post-cancer life. She is represented by Jennifer Weis at the Weis Agency, and is currently working on a memoir about being a bad cancer mom.
